From my home in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, I practice a unique form of recycling. There I fashion shards of old china into original wearable art.
This folk art known as pique assiette ( a French term that translates as “stolen from plate”) conjures up images from the past. Selecting and wearing a piece of my jewelry invites you to celebrate our culture. The shards are reminders of the everyday activities of those who have lived before us, and what we have in common: gathering around the table, providing for our families, and embellishing our homes.
Thank you for your interest in my work.
Vintage Bunnykins Broken China Oval Earrings
“Lots of Hoppy Fun”
These earrings have been made out of a collectable Royal Doulton, Bunnykins child’s plate. Each earring consists of a ¾” across china oval with an authentic fresh water pearl and peridot Swarovski crystal dangle. The ovals hang from sterling silver earwires with a total dangling length of 1 & ½”. The china ovals are surrounded in a silver alloy bezel embellished with silver beadwork. The Swarovski crystal dangle color may be changed to the buyer’s preference.
