From my home in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, I practice a unique form of recycling. There I fashion shards of old china into original wearable art.
This folk art known as pique assiette ( a French term that translates as “stolen from plate”) conjures up images from the past. Selecting and wearing a piece of my jewelry invites you to celebrate our culture. The shards are reminders of the everyday activities of those who have lived before us, and what we have in common: gathering around the table, providing for our families, and embellishing our homes.

Oval Wedgewood Bunny Necklace

This piece has been made out of an extremely hard to find Jasperware china plate. The necklace consists of a china oval, 1 & ¼” inch across by 1 inch in height, 1 & ½” when including the fresh water pearl and Swarovski crystal dangle. The china oval is surrounded by a silver alloy bezel, embellished with silver soldered beading. The piece has been set on a delicate 18” silverplated cable chain. It is a great length for any neckline but can be lengthened or shortened to the buyer’s specifications.
