From my home in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, I practice a unique form of recycling. There I fashion shards of old china into original wearable art.
This folk art known as pique assiette ( a French term that translates as “stolen from plate”) conjures up images from the past. Selecting and wearing a piece of my jewelry invites you to celebrate our culture. The shards are reminders of the everyday activities of those who have lived before us, and what we have in common: gathering around the table, providing for our families, and embellishing our homes.

These real starfish and sand dollar earrings are made by encasing the sealife in ¾” square glass boxes. A generous sprinkling of German Glass Glitter has been added to give them extra sparkle. The glass is surrounded by a silver alloy bezel, topped with a sterling French earwire. A perfect accent to your beachwear or summer outfit. They will "Shore to Please" your favorite beach goer.
These earrings are water resistant but not water-proof. They should not be worn when swimming or showering but can be cleaned with a damp cloth or Windex.
